The Best Winter Activities To Do This Season

Winter is a time of… sleeping in and watching endless holiday movies? Well yes. But it is also a time for fun and adventure. There are so many fun activities that you can take your friends or family on. In this post, we highlight our favorites.

#1 Snowmobiling
This is probably the most popular winter activity. Many places in northern Ontario offer snowmobile trails that you can explore. If you have a big yard we suggest tiring a sled to the back and take your kids on a fun ride

#2 Skiing and/or Snowboarding
Many places in Ontario offer mountains for skiing or snowboarding. If you’re just starting out you can sign up for lessons that quickly show you how to tackle the slopes

#3 Skating
Skating is the most romantic out of the three. Toronto alone has three major skating rinks. One in the downtown core, one under the highway bridge and the one on the west end near Humber College.

We know the thought of winter can be depressing, however, we hope to brighten your season with these fun activities.

How to Prepare for the Winter Season

There have been reports already that snow is expected to hit part of Ontario this month (what)?! But we knew this was coming – and we still have time to prepare.

#1 Stock up on firewood
If you live Northern Ontario chances are your home will have a wood stove. Now is the perfect time to stock up on firewood before all the trees become wet.

#2 Buy more blankets
Nobody has ever had too many blankets. As winter is soon approaching we suggest getting big blanks to wrap yourself in while you binge watch Netflix.

#3 Hot Chocolate (and lots of it)!
Have you ever lived through a winter season without hot chocolate? Probably not. There was always some available around the house.

#4 Store your summer belongings
If you live in Toronto or any big cities chances are you are living in a small overpriced condo with no storage. Outside the city is Hanover Storage – they will take care of all your needs.
